Under the Bib: The Return

Updated: Nov 12, 2020

It's officially the dog days of summer. So we compiled a list of our favorite cuts that'll keep you going in the heat, all while oozing elegance, sophistication...nah, just playin'. But these styles bang, so read on, keep cool, and register to vote.

Devereux Threads, Gravity Pant, $135 (BUT OH MY 10% OFF WITH BAGBANDIT10)

Devereux Threads is one of the better brands out there by way of versatility. Rooted in golf but adaptable to pretty much any occasion, the gear we snag from Devereaux is always well-fitting, breathable, and hands-down pretty. That rings just as true for their Gravity Pant. Four-way stretch, lightweight, and with a sneaky little zipper down the ankle, these pants are primed for the golf course, a casual hike, or your next Zoom meeting. They come in four colorways, too, so grab a few pairs in one go, custom-fit for any look.

A18 Golf, The Return White Polo, $78

A18 Golf: unconventional, creative, community-focused. With this latest drop, A18 aligned themselves with 2 GOATs in one polo. “The Return”—inspired by Michael Jordan’s overall greatness, “The Last Dance”, and the longing for the return of live sports—is the latest HEAT from this Chicago-Portland based team. Made from polyester mesh material, this polo features a blending of the A18 and Chicago Bulls logo on the front. The back of the polo is where A18’s creativity shines. 45 was Jordan's number while he played baseball and when Jordan returned to basketball he kept that number to signify a fresh (re)start in the NBA. A18 layers both of their logos—the tiger and A18 text—into the 45 on the back. This layering of logos brings together the two all-time GOATs of Tiger Woods and MJ into one look.

The A18 team is based in Chicago and Portland and is an up-and-coming golf entity. A18 is all about building a community around the game and bringing new players into the fold. The team has partnered with Jiwon Jeon, a rising star on the LPGA tour, and host a weekly golf meetup in Chicago, where you might have a chance to play golf alongside some local hip hop artists and designers. Puma, Women’s RS-G, $130

Pastels like it’s Easter! Women’s golf shoes oftentimes come in with sicker colors and fresher styles than men’s, and these Puma RS-Gs bring that trend to life.

Puma’s original RS (Running System) design hit shelves in 1986 with the RS-100. The shoe offered some of the most advanced cushioning technology at the time and delivered a top-line running experience with loads of stability. From the RS-100 to the Computer Shoes to now, Puma’s RS shoes have always been packed with new technology and designs inspired by the latest trends in sneakers and streetwear.

I have not personally worn the Puma RS-Gs but from what I’ve seen on other sneaker reviews and by the look of the traction patterns on the sole, these might not be the most functional golf shoe in your collection. They very well could be the most stylish and versatile pair though. You can slip these on for happy hour and a twilight 9, a Topgolf outing, or even just a quick run and no one—not even you—would realize you’re wearing a pair of golf shoes.

IS.golf Socks, Crew Socks, $19

Do you like coffee? Do you like recycling plastics? Do you like stylish socks of all different lengths? If the answer is yes then you'll super-dig IS.golf Socks. These luxury socks look good and do good. Their manufacturing process up-cycles composted coffee grounds from craft roasters that are then compressed until they produce coffee nanoparticles. While that's going on, recycled water bottles are slowly melted to create a plastic fiber. The coffee is then combined with the plastic fibers, cotton, nylon and spandex to create the yarn the socks are sewn from.

IS.golf has multiple buying options for you. A pair of crew socks will run you $19 and they have packs with multiple crew length and thigh length socks that will run up to $95. You’ll get free shipping on orders over $20 so you might as well snag a few pairs. Here’s the kicker: with any purchase right now IS is giving you a free mask, which we can all use more of. IS, you knock my socks off.
